IPX Brooklyn is set to be the largest dedicated indoor pickleball facility in New York City. With 13 professional courts, a dedicated gym area, shower facilities, a party/event area, and a 3rd-party vendor service space, we aim to be the premier destination for pickleball enthusiasts in New York City. Position Overview: The Kids Coach is a vital leader responsible for delivering a premium instructional experience to our youngest members. Your core focus is on designing and leading fun, engaging, and safe sports experiences for children in our summer camps and afterschool programs. You will be the architect of the kids’ curriculum, responsible for creating a positive environment where children can learn the fundamentals of racquet sports through play, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love for active living. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with kids and has a talent for making learning fun.
Key Responsibilities: As a Kids Coach, you will be responsible for designing the youth curriculum from the ground up. You will create lesson plans that are both instructional and incredibly fun, using games and creative drills to teach fundamental skills. You will lead all group sessions, ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for every child. A major part of your role will be to foster a positive atmosphere, keeping kids happy, engaged, and excited to come to the court each day. You will also serve as the primary point of contact for parents regarding their child’s progress and program updates.
Qualifications: A deep passion for working with children is required. Proven experience in designing curriculum and teaching sports or other activities to kids (e.g., as a camp counselor, youth coach, or teacher) is a major plus. We are looking for a candidate with boundless energy, creativity, and patience. You must be an excellent communicator, not just with kids but with their parents as well. A background in racquet sports (tennis, pickleball, etc.) is preferred, but a strong background in youth education and a willingness to learn the sport deeply is also highly valued. All candidates must pass a background check.
